053 Talking about addiction

Welcome to the Fail Forward podcast.

In this episode I’m talking about addiction. 

It’s something close to my heart, and something I don’t shy away from talking about “in real life” but have never really spoken about on the podcast. 

Yet it’s an important topic that can affect anyone. 

Addictions come in many different forms - exercise, alcohol, food, sex, dieting, drugs - legal and not - the list goes on. 

Whatever the addiction is, they stem from the common fact that something in your life is not serving you in a positive way. 

For me, drugs were my addiction. As a young person I enjoyed going out, partying and having a great time. Until it stopped being fun. 

In this episode I talk about what it’s taken me to get (and stay) clean, how my friends and family have been affected, and how I check-in with my resilience from time to time.

Addictions don’t happen overnight. And they can’t be tackled overnight either.
