Episode 4 on The Role of Batteries in the Decarbonisation Journey

This week, we interview Lokeshwar Vohra, Senior Investment Manager at Amber Infrastructure, on the role of batteriesin the decarbonisation journey. In his daily work at a specialist international infrastructure investment manager with approx. £9 billion assets under management, Lokeshwar is, among other things, looking for solutions to fully decarbonise the electrical grid and gives us insights on:

\ how he'd be very proud if the UK would be 100% powered by renewable energies in the coldest day of winter in 2050
\ how electric vehicles and heating add significant demand load to the electrical grid
\ what important role batteries play in all of this, as readily available renewable energy at times needs to be stored for up to six months (interseasonal storage)
\ his dream of how one day consumers will not need to restrict their energy consumption because carbon emissions will be fully decoupled from the usage of energy
